Natalie James

Natalie studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama for three years. She had two top ten hits in the Scottish Charts and was then signed to EMI for two years, joining Dutch pop/rock group Bad Candy. Whilst lead vocalist for the group, Natalie secured top 10 chart hits, an album and a TV show on Nickelodeon. The group also won their first award, ‘Best Pop Group of 2005’, against The Black Eyed Peas.

In 2006, Natalie featured as an English coach for the Dutch version of X Factor. She also started working for ‘Razzamataz Theatre Schools’ in 2004, and since has owned four theatre schools in Glasgow and Stirling, until 2014. Natalie is still keen to perform and is currently studying a qualification for Estill vocal training. She now works with Dancepoint, is loving her time there and is excited about her future within the school and with ScotSoul.

Des McFarlane

Des has been singing for as long as he can remember, having caught the “bug” for music and performance at secondary school.  He went from being solo boy soprano in the school choir to performing in Wagner’s epic opera Die Walkure with Scottish opera within a year! Over the years Des has been involved in many different music groups from the ‘Heart and Soul’ show band to ‘Inseparable’ – a vocal duo with his wife and partner in crime, Louise.

He has also performed in the BBC Hogmanay Show, Commonwealth Games Concerts and Cabaret shows in both Spain and Australia.  Bringing humour and a wee bit of vocal heat, Des loves performing with ScotSoul.

Louise McFarlane

Louise won her first talent competition at the age of 4, and by the age of 6 she was performing and touring with the musical ‘Annie’, playing the part of Molly. She then went on to perform in the Royal Variety Performance and TV talent shows such as ‘The United Shoelace Show’, ‘Saturday Superstore Search For A Super Star’ and ‘Wogan’.

After graduating from music college, Louise opened the doors to her music school ‘Singer Station’.  One of her proudest achievements was seeing her students reach the final of Emma Bunton’s ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ in 2011. Louise has performed as a session singer in Spain and Australia and is still gigging every weekend at weddings and corporate events. There has never been a moment in her life where there hasn’t been music.
